The Professional Freelance Journalism Course is a very straightforward course and I am glad I have completed it. I decided to enrol in the course as I have noticed the demand for online content and have been attracted to the life of a digital nomad. I now know how to write effective articles that really communicate to the reader.
I found the course was a very efficient way to learn as I could complete the study in my own time, at my own pace. The course itself was very well laid out and the staff were incredibly helpful. My tutor’s guidance was fundamental in building my knowledge and confidence in being able to write an effective article.
The skills I have learned have been invaluable. My misconceptions and many other assumptions in journalism were debunked. I have learned the fundamentals of the trade and how to give editors what they want. Throughout the course, you are encouraged to write articles that you are able to use in the future. The course made sure you are industry-ready, rather than introducing a bunch of irrelevant theories.
I am now undertaking a communications degree and I’m finding I can apply many of the techniques that I have learned through the Morris Journalism Academy. There’s one subject I’m studying at the moment that is covered by a few tutorials within this course. Honestly, this course feels like a fast version of my studies at university.
Currently, I travel frequently between New York and Adelaide. This travel time continually inspires me to write. I have done so much writing, mainly for my own blogs or publications through the university in order to build a portfolio. Now, I am looking forward to finishing my degree and pursuing a career in Marketing and Communications in New York City and hopefully freelance in journalism too. My goal is to be able to write for a living, travelling around the world on the earnings of my articles.
The Professional Freelance Journalism Course is a very practical way to learn and a lucrative way to actually jump-start writing creatively and professionally. I genuinely think that there’s plenty of things that you can really take away from here, not just securing a piece of paper to certify completion. If you have a passion for writing or an interest in telling stories, I highly recommend this course to aspiring writers of any sort.
