Thanks to the Morris Journalism Academy I now have the confidence, skills and opportunity to develop my skills as a freelance journalist.
Since I was young I had a dream and passion to become a journalist. Journalism opens doors and information channels for the world to discover by unearthing the facts – and this is what I intend to do. My initial enquiries with MJA were responded to in such a professional manner, I soon realised my dreams could come true.
I chose to study this course, not for the qualification at the end, but because it was evident I would have the ongoing support of the MJA team and the ability to learn to write as a freelance journalist.
I liked the professional approach of MJA, and the way the course was set out and designed. It covered all the valuable information and skills required of a freelance journalist. The expertise provided by my tutor, Carl Hammerschmidt in delivering the course content was superb. In particular I learnt about the significance of the relationship between editor and freelancer, along with the importance of a high standard of professional ethics. Frankly the course was excellent and delivered on all expectations.
I have successfully been published twice in The Moroccan Times newspaper during the course of my studies. My goal is to continue to write and publish travel and life style articles. I would highly recommend the course to any budding journalist.
