My time since studying with Morris Journalism Academy has been incredible. At just 24 years old I have a resume of someone twice my age.
Within a month after graduating from the Academy I had my first piece commissioned with a major national magazine; Holidays for Couples. Since then, I have formed a great relationship with their editors and written numerous pieces for them and their sister publications Queensland Brides and Queensland Homes.
For three years I travelled throughout Australia and the world freelancing for national and international magazines; working for not for profit organisations in Mexico and the US assisting in communication based roles; and have had more than 80 published pieces in nearly 15 different publications.
At the end of 2010 I was offered a position with APN (Australian Regional Media) at the Sunshine Coast Daily as a roving editor for their seven community papers. I have been in this position for one year and will now be taking on a full time editors role for one of these papers; The Range News. I was also recently nominated for an APN Editorial Award.
All of this happened because of the skills I obtained through the Academy and I thank them for that.
