What I really loved about this freelance journalism course was it completely debunked the myths about what I had to do to break into media and journalism. I was shocked to find out that it was as easy as picking up a phone or sending an email.

Before I discovered the Professional Freelance Journalism Course with the Morris Journalism Academy I had no idea how to break into the industry. I was too arrogant to go to Uni because I knew I could write and I didn’t need anyone to tell me how to do it. I felt I could write, I wanted to be a writer but I had no idea how to go about it.

I looked up writing courses on Google as until this point I had written an array of different prose all for my own enjoyment but now I wanted to fulfil that ambition to be a professional writer.

That’s when I cyber-stumbled across the Morris Journalism Academy. Not only could I study journalism for a very reasonable price but I didn’t have to go to school and sit in a classroom! I could do it from the comfort of my own home at my own pace. And, in studying by correspondence, the Academy taught me the basic tools and skills I needed to work from home from the very first tutorial.

What I really loved about this freelance journalism course was it completely debunked the myths about what I had to do to break into media and journalism. I was shocked to find out that it was as easy as picking up a phone or sending an email. Naturally, you have to be able to sell your ideas and have some writing ability, but this course helped me to do that while honing my writing to get a foot in the door.

The feedback I received from my tutor was invaluable and only helped to spark more ideas and improve my writing style. In no way did I feel restricted about how to write or what to write about. I was free to create without even realising I was learning, it didn’t feel like school because it’s not. It captures the very essence of what freelance journalism is about and it gives you all the right strings to your bow to make it happen.

As you can imagine there are some bonuses to being an editor of a beer magazine. I have also written multiple times for Ralph, Soccer International, au.fourfourtwo.comAudio TechnologyHyper, National Liquor News, and Poker News Australasia & Pacific. All my own interests, all from the comfort of my own home and all thanks to the Morris Journalism Academy.

If it wasn’t for this journalism course, I would not be where I am today doing the very thing that I love.
